https://app.honeybadger.io/v3/projects/{project_id}/faults/{fault_id}/occurrences
faults:read
Returns a fault’s occurrence counts over a window, set with occurred_after and occurred_before. With neither, the window is the last hour; with only occurred_before, the hour before it; with only occurred_after, from then until now. A start older than the project’s retention is moved up to it.
The bucket size depends on the window’s length. meta.window gives the window served and meta.interval_seconds the bucket size. Every interval is included, with 0 where there were no occurrences.
Example request
curl "https://app.honeybadger.io/v3/projects/$PROJECT_ID/faults/$FAULT_ID/occurrences" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $HONEYBADGER_API_TOKEN"Parameters
5Path parameters
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
project_id required | string | Project ID. |
fault_id required | string | Fault ID. |
Query parameters
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
occurred_after | number | Only occurrences after this Unix timestamp (seconds, not ISO 8601). A value before the project's retention window is moved up to it. On the fault list, occurrence counts cover this window. |
occurred_before | number | Only occurrences before this Unix timestamp (seconds, not ISO 8601). |
q | string | Search query, in the syntax of the web UI's error search, such as environment:production, is:resolved or class:ArgumentError. Prefix a filter with - to negate it. See Error search for the syntax and filters. Filters that need the search index return nothing when it holds no data for the project. |

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
data required | array<object> | Buckets in ascending time order, one per interval across the served window. |
data[].timestamp required | integer | Start of the bucket, as a Unix timestamp. |
data[].count required | integer | Occurrences within the bucket. |
meta | object | |
meta.request_id | string | Unique identifier for the request, for correlating with support. |
meta.window | object | The window actually served. |
meta.window.occurred_after required | number | Unix timestamp, preserving fractional seconds. |
meta.window.occurred_before required | number | Unix timestamp, preserving fractional seconds. |
meta.interval_seconds | integer | null | Spacing between bucket timestamps. Null when the requested window falls entirely outside retention. |
meta.retention_truncated | boolean | Whether retention narrowed the requested window. |
301 This fault was merged into another fault.
Location is the same resource on the fault it was merged into: …/faults/<survivor> for the fault, or the same subresource path and query for occurrences, affected users and notices. Only reads redirect; writes get a 409 fault_merged.

Bad Request
A query parameter is malformed or outside its allowed values. error.details names the parameter.
